55+ Active Adult Community - The Overlook at Old Atlanta
The Overlook at Old Atlanta: an award-winning, active adult community checks all the boxes for ideal retirement living.
The Overlook at Old Atlanta is located in the sought-after, Atlanta suburb, Suwanee, GA. Jim Chapman Communities designed this amenity-rich, gated community and construction started in 2017. It consists of 74 attached villas and 54 single-family homes in a vibrant, close-knit setting. Square footage of homes in The Overlook at Old Atlanta range from around 2300 to over 4400 including finished terrace levels.
The community was a winner at the National Association of Home Builders Show in 2019 for Best Attached Homes over 1,700 square feet. Each home includes luxury finishes and thoughtfully designed floorplans.
It is a 55+ community which, if you’re not familiar, means at least one resident in the home must be 55 years of age or older. In this particular community, no one under the age of 18 may be a permanent resident. The grandkids can still visit, but can't move in for an extended period of time as their primary residence.
Amenities abound in this community including a full social calendar of events and parties to bring residents together. Homeowners have plenty of options for activities! Visit the clubhouse with an outdoor pool, a patio with outdoor fireplace, tennis (or pickleball!) courts, and a fitness center. Plus beautifully finished interior space for events!
Within the community, you’ll also find a dog park and community garden. Yard maintenance is included, but imagine growing your own vegetables in your reserved garden plot.
The Overlook at Old Atlanta is also a neighbor to Chattahoochee Pointe Park and is connected to the park’s 3+ miles of trails. Chattahoochee Pointe Park is a premier park with a disc golf course, playground for the grandkids, picnic pavilions, plus a non-motorized boat launch along the Chattahoochee River. Are you a golfer? St. Marlo Country Club is right around the corner and offers an 18-hole course, driving range, and restaurant.
Looking outside the community, just minutes down Old Atlanta Road are several options of shops and restaurants. Your closest grocery store is Publix, just 1.4 miles of a 5 minute drive away. You’re a 10-minute drive from all the conveniences on Medlock Bridge Road - Lowe’s, Michael’s, Kroger, and more. The Overlook at Old Atlanta is extremely convenient to healthcare including Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Northside Hospital, and Gwinnett Medical Center. This community is also perfectly located for numerous day trip options. Atlanta can be reached in an hour’s drive, or explore the mountains to the north, or Lake Lanier in just 30 minutes.
The Overlook at Old Atlanta is an ideal retirement destination for active adults in North Metro Atlanta. If you’re interested in seeing available homes in this community or another Active Adult community, contact our team or start your home search now.
